Solution of the Crisis with public spending? Contribution of Market Based Environmental Policy

On May 29th Green Budget Germany  organized a conference in Rotes Rathaus, the town hall of Berlin. Purpose of this conference was the discussion and interaction between politicians, the representatives of business and NGOs. The current financial crisis and the challenges and opportunities which can arise for an ecological financial reform were discussed in the conference. Especially the actual political solutions related to the crisis were reviewed, as well as their their positive and negative outcomes. Action recommendations were given to the politicians for a solution of the crisis. The present actions and the huge amounts of money which the politicians are spending to solve the crisis were seen as opportunity to reorganize the economy and the financial system towards a greener future.

• Economic Crisis: Challenges of an ecological-social stimulation of the economy and the chances of an ecological finance reform for the industry and economy

• Steering of the land use through the reform of the tax on land and buildings and other economic instruments
• Refurbishment of buildings - with concept and free-markets
